Option 1: Classic oatmeal recipe with apples and cinnamon

A healthy breakfast is very important for good performance throughout the day. There is no need to argue about the benefits of oatmeal. It should definitely be included in your diet at least twice a week.

According to the first classic recipe, the porridge is viscous - add 100 g of cereal and liquid per 300 ml. If you increase the amount of liquid (and this can be water, milk, cream), the porridge will be liquid. This way, you can cook the kind of oatmeal that your family loves.

Ingredients:

  • 100 g oatmeal;
  • 300 ml milk;
  • one large apple;
  • 5-6 g cinnamon powder;
  • 20 g butter;
  • 2-3 tbsp. l. Sahara;
  • salt.

Step-by-step recipe for oatmeal with apples and cinnamon

Rinse and peel the apple; if you have small fruits, take several. Cut into pieces - cubes, slices or strips - it makes no difference. Applesauce will also work. And to make thin slices, take a vegetable peeler - with its help the pieces will be equally thin. Be sure to leave a few to decorate the finished porridge in the plate.

Oatmeal is perhaps the only one that does not require rinsing. Pour it into a saucepan and add milk. Send the apple, sugar and butter there. Place over high heat to help the porridge boil faster.

Stir and reduce heat. Salt and sprinkle with cinnamon. Cook the porridge until tender - about a quarter of an hour. Be sure to stir during this time, otherwise the cereal will burn to the bottom of the pan.

When the cereal is completely ready, close the pan with a lid and let the porridge “rest” for a couple of minutes. Immediately after this, place it on plates.

The color of the finished porridge with cinnamon will be slightly dark from the color of the spice. But this does not make the dish lose a bit of its attractiveness, aroma or taste. Instead of an apple, if desired, take pieces of pear or plum, pumpkin or zucchini.

Option 2: Quick recipe for oatmeal with apples and cinnamon

Instead of apples, this recipe uses apple fruit jam. It is added to the porridge at the very end of cooking, and also replaces sugar. To increase the nutritional value of the dish, as well as diversify its presentation, place fresh washed berries on a plate. Cut the big ones into pieces and sprinkle the small ones like this.

Ingredients:

  • 100 g oatmeal;
  • 200 ml milk;
  • 100 ml water;
  • three tbsp. l. apple jam (or jam);
  • two tsp. butter;
  • a couple of pinches of cinnamon;
  • salt to taste.

How to quickly cook oatmeal with apples and cinnamon

Prepare a pan for cooking porridge. Place oatmeal, butter, cinnamon and salt into it. Pour milk and water.

Let the porridge cook, and when it boils, stir. Cook until the flakes are soft. Add jam and stir. Then close the lid and let sit for a few minutes.

Place on plates and serve the porridge hot.

Some nutritionists recommend consuming oatmeal without cooking - simply pour boiling water (porridge on water) or hot milk. And after insisting for five minutes, eat immediately. If you like this method, you can buy oatmeal that does not require boiling - baked. They have already undergone heat treatment in production and are prepared ultra quickly at home.

Option 3: Oatmeal with apples, dried fruits and cinnamon

In winter, dried fruits partially replace fresh natural fruits with their benefits and vitamins. Such substitutes can be used in many dishes, including porridge. They add sweetness to the dish, and if you have an “experienced sweet tooth,” feel free to add sugar, honey or fructose to the recipe.

Ingredients:

  • 100 g dry oatmeal;
  • 250 ml milk;
  • 150 ml water;
  • a handful of dry apples;
  • a handful of dried fruits (prunes, dogwood, dried apricots);
  • cinnamon stick (20-30 g);
  • salt.

How to cook

To start cooking, rinse all the dried fruits in hot water and soak them for a little while. Then rinse again and remove the pits, if any. Cut the swollen pulp into pieces and place in a saucepan.

Pour milk and water there. Add dry oatmeal and salt. If desired, add sugar - it is not in the recipe, since the dried fruits are already sweet.

Put the porridge to cook, and when it boils, stir and put a cinnamon stick in it.

Stir and after a quarter of an hour carefully remove the cinnamon stick. Cook the porridge for a couple more minutes and remove the pan from the heat.

In addition to cinnamon, if you wish and taste, you can add other spices and seasonings to sweet oatmeal. Use ground nutmeg, ginger, natural or powdered vanilla, anise (fruits, seeds - whole or ground). You can also use star anise - the dish will have a slight licorice flavor, but do not overdo it with this spice, otherwise the porridge will be slightly bitter.

Option 4: Oatmeal with apples, raisins, nuts and cinnamon

To prepare porridge, use not only a regular saucepan, but also a double boiler, slow cooker or oven (porridge in a pot). It will take longer, but you won’t have to watch so that the precious dish doesn’t “run away.”

Ingredients:

  • 7-8 tbsp. l. oatmeal or Hercules;
  • a glass of boiled water;
  • five tbsp. l. cream (fat);
  • one apple;
  • 3-4 tsp. raisins (seedless);
  • a handful of pecans;
  • 100 g sweetish cream cheese;
  • 10-15 g butter (butter or sesame);
  • 2 tbsp. spoons of sugar (fructose or honey);
  • ½ tsp. cinnamon (powder);
  • salt.

Step by step recipe

Place the oats, chosen oil, cinnamon, salt and sugar into a saucepan. Fill with water and set to cook. When it boils, add cream and cook further. Stir occasionally.

Rinse the raisins and soak in warm water for a few minutes. Then rinse and wring out again. Cut the nuts into smaller pieces with a knife - their dark crust is not bitter and does not require removal. If you don’t have these particular nuts on hand, take any others.

In the meantime, rinse and peel the apple and remove the core. Finely chop the pieces and add to the porridge when the cereal flakes have already swollen well. Now add raisins and nuts to the pan. Stir and remove from heat.

Before serving, slice the sweet cream cheese and sprinkle on top of the porridge. Use Ricotta or Mascarpone cheese if desired.

In this cooking method, apple pieces are not boiled together with the cereal, but are only slightly doused with boiling mass. This leaves most of the nutrients and vitamins in the fruit pieces. If you want to use this recipe for baking porridge in the oven, place the pieces of cheese on the surface of the porridge immediately before placing the mold or pot in the heated oven. In this case, the cheese crust will be baked - it will become fragrant and rosy.

Option 5: Chocolate oatmeal with apples and cinnamon in a slow cooker

In this recipe, the porridge is prepared in a slow cooker. Multicookers from different companies have different functions and different possibilities for creating culinary masterpieces. If your unit has a “chef” button, use it - set the temperature to 90˚C and the time to 15 minutes. If there is no such function, turn on the main cooking or stewing program for 60 minutes.

Ingredients:

  • a handful of oatmeal;
  • 210 ml milk;
  • half an apple;
  • a pinch of cinnamon powder;
  • 50 g chocolate (bar dark, milk or white);
  • a pinch of sugar;
  • a pinch of anise;
  • salt.

How to cook

Peel the apple and cut it into pieces. Along with it, if desired, you can take other fruits for porridge.

Pour oatmeal into the multicooker bowl, add milk, apples, cinnamon, sugar, anise and salt. And also break the chocolate bar into pieces, or grate it.

Close the multicooker lid and set the cooking program that is suitable for porridge. When choosing a program, be guided by the operating rules of your multicooker.

When you hear the signal for the end of cooking, open the lid and place the porridge on plates.

To cook oatmeal, use any quality of cereal. Flakes with impurities of the shell of oat grains and pure large Hercules flakes are also suitable.

Of course, to prepare a particularly tasty dish, you will have to select products carefully, assessing both the taste and the benefits of the final dish.

The apple version of oatmeal meets these requirements fully.

Oatmeal with apples - general cooking principles

Oatmeal is boiled in a saucepan on the stove, or cooked in the oven or slow cooker. For quick preparation, a microwave oven is used, and sometimes such porridge is prepared without cooking, steaming with boiling water.

Oatmeal with apples can be prepared with water, milk or a mixture of both. Sometimes milk is mixed not with water, but with clarified apple juice.

In most cases, cereals intended for instant cooking or “Hercules” are used. For steaming, it is better to take flakes intended for cooking without cooking. In any case, you should carefully read the instructions on the package, which clearly indicate the cooking time.

Apple varieties are selected according to your taste preferences. If you don't like sweet porridge, take sweet and sour apples. The fruits are peeled or left with the peel, be sure to remove the hard partitions with seeds and chop them. The fruits are cut into slices, small cubes or crushed on a fine grater. Apples are added both raw and stewed, they are added during the cooking process or in already prepared oatmeal.

Porridge is often enriched with other foods or fruits. In addition to apples, you can add bananas, dried fruits or honey. They flavor the oatmeal with cinnamon or vanilla, as you like, and be sure to flavor the hot porridge with butter.

Oatmeal with apples - cooking tricks and useful tips

When preparing oatmeal, add the flakes to the hot liquid base, and when steaming, do the opposite - pour boiling water into the flakes.

Hercules flakes are thicker and take longer to cook than others, but the porridge from them turns out much tastier, thicker and healthier.

Don't know how to choose the right proportions? Take 100 grams of cereal and 570 ml of liquid base (milk or water) and get a thin porridge. For a more viscous flake for the same mass of flakes, it is enough to take 350 ml of liquid.

Do not stir the dish frequently or intensively during the cooking process, as this will slow down the cooking time.

Oatmeal with apples should be prepared literally just before consumption, as it tends to thicken quickly. If you plan to make ahead, use more liquid.

Oatmeal likes to “steam”, so wrap the finished dish in a warm blanket or terry towel for 10 minutes.

You can cook oatmeal completely in water and season it with margarine. Sugar is added to taste or completely replaced with a handful of crushed raisins, and apples are placed on top and in large slices. It is very good to eat this dish with cold boiled water.

Rice is a universal grain. It is used to prepare meat and vegetarian dishes, puddings and desserts. Rice porridge with apple is ideal for breakfast. It can be consumed even during a diet. Healthy rice porridge with apples and dried fruits

Rice porridge with apples prepared according to this recipe is often called “sweet pilaf.” If you do not add sugar and spices to it, you can use cereal as a side dish for meat. Not everyone will like this combination, although the dish has a very unusual rich taste.

Ingredients:

  • Rice cereal - 200 g;
  • Raisins and dried apricots - 50 g each;
  • Water - 500 ml;
  • Apples - 2 pcs.;
  • Butter - 60 g;
  • Candied fruits and nuts - 50 g each;
  • Vanilla, cinnamon, saffron - to taste.

Step by step cooking method

Before you start cooking, you need to wash the rice, sort out the dried fruits and nuts. If they contain pits, leftover shells or other waste, this can significantly affect the taste. The apples are washed, then cleared of seeds and peel. They are cut into small slices.

Boil the rice in plenty of water. While it's cooking, melt the butter in a frying pan. When it’s hot, add nuts and dried fruits, and after a couple of minutes add apples.

Roast the fruits and nuts, then add sugar and spices. Pour two tablespoons of hot water into the frying pan and bring to a boil. Boil for another 10 minutes, then combine all ingredients in a saucepan with rice.

Rice with dried fruits, apples and nuts should be cooked for another 7-10 minutes over low heat. After this, you need to cover it with a lid and let it brew.

The porridge should be served warm, but not hot. In this case, all tastes and aromas will be perfectly combined with each other. This dish is a complete healthy breakfast for the whole family.

I probably won’t be wrong if I say that we all grew up on porridge. And if in childhood we were often forced to eat porridge, then having matured, we ourselves eat it with pleasure, fully realizing the health benefits of cereal products. All porridges are healthy: buckwheat, barley, millet, wheat, corn... Rice porridge is no exception. The nice thing is that we can prepare this dish with various additives - dried fruits, nuts, vegetables, berries and fruits. This will significantly increase the benefits and nutritional value. Today I will cook milk rice porridge with apples.

Porridge can be prepared either with milk alone or with milk and water. Today I am preparing rice porridge with milk. I will pour the liquid into a cooking vessel, add a pinch of salt and sugar to taste.

We put the milk on the fire, and in the meantime, cut the apple. I have a large apple, half was enough for this amount of porridge.

Wash the rice several times, bring the milk to a boil and add the cereal. Place on the fire and cook over low heat under the lid. It is impossible to say for sure how long to cook rice, because there are different varieties with different properties. We focus on appearance (the rice should absorb the milk) and taste (try it).

Our porridge should look something like this.

Add the chopped apples, mix and cook for another 5 minutes under the lid. Apples are a ready-made product. In porridge they can be either fresh or boiled. If you like the first option, then after adding the fruit you don’t have to cook the porridge. If the second, then cook until the apples are soft. In my case (cook for 5 minutes), the apples will soften, but not boil.
