Good afternoon, dear readers, guests, friends. Dasha and I have been resting at the dacha for several days. In those days when there is no rain, we have fun in the garden: I'm on potatoes, Dasha is not a babute 🙂 Grandfather gave her a gift and bought a huge sports trampoline. That was happiness! But more about that later, because in addition to the trampoline, Roma and I also prepared a surprise for her (I'll tell you later with pictures). But the weather does not please us every day with the sun, we freeze for 2 days and hide from the rain, so we have to find entertainment at home. Dasha and I have already fully mastered the Scrabble game. If earlier we played with him, then during these 2 days we have already begun to play like adults, according to the rules.

But the biggest find turned out to be a board game. "Around the world".

Since I am a big fan of geography, I bought this game when Dasha was about a year old. I bought it for the future and forgot about it. But the other day this "future" has come. The game was found by accident and for several hours we were lost to others 😉

I want to tell you about it, because it is very easy to make it yourself, and even if you can’t buy it, you can definitely make it yourself!

So, includes:

  • The playing field, in the center of which is drawn a part of Europe, a piece of Africa and a part of Russia. Small pictures depicting various sights are drawn along the contour of the playing field.
  • A stack of cards depicting points of interest identical to those drawn along the outline of the playing field.
  • Chip set and dice
  • Manual with a description of the rules and attractions

How to play?

There are several ways to play. We have started with the simplest so far. On the playing field, identical cards were laid out on small drawings with sights face down (1).

Players put the chips on the start and roll the die. If a player enters the field with a question mark, then he skips the move. If the player lands on a card, he flips it over (2) and (in the easiest case) must name which country the attraction comes from. If the child finds it difficult to do this, then a flag comes to his aid, which is depicted in the corner of each card and on the central playing field with a map (each country has a flag). The child looks for a similar flag and names the country.

For a while we played that way. If suddenly Dasha did not know the name of the country, she read it from the map, but, as a rule, she determined it either by sights or by location. Those sights that Dasha did not know, I voiced after she found a country for them, and told about them what I know or what is written in the training manual.

A more complex option - the child names the country and the name of the sight itself

And the most difficult option is that the child (player) does not just name the landmark and the country, but tells something about it. I must say that Dasha knows some sights so well that she tells everything about them herself. For example, the Egyptian pyramids, the Eiffel Tower, Kizhi, etc.

The winner is the one who collects the most cards with attractions in the game.

Now I had an idea to supplement this game with cards with tasks for each attraction and interesting outdoor games.

He argued with his colleagues, eventually deciding to travel around the world to prove his case. On its reels you will meet not only familiar heroes, but also various vehicles, as well as sights from all over the world. The highest paid symbol on the reels is the image of Phileas Fogg himself. With a five-fold appearance on the active line, the gallant Englishman will increase your bet by 10 thousand times.

Internet addiction concept, types, symptoms, stages and causes.

In second place in terms of payment is the closest friend and ally of the protagonist - the rogue Passepartout. Of course, a very important item in a round-the-world trip is a watch, which allows Fogg to calculate the time in the most advantageous way. 5 such symbols can multiply the bet by a thousand times. In addition to the above images, on the reels of the slot you will see a suitcase, a ship, a balloon, the Great Wall of China, the Eiffel Tower, Egyptian pyramids, the majestic Indian Taj Mahal, as well as a wild symbol that can replace any of the above - it is the inscription " Around the World" against the backdrop of the planet Earth.

If 4 or 5 locomotives appear on the reels at the same time, then you will become a participant in the first bonus game. You will be prompted to select a route to one of the five cities on the map. The longer the route, the more payment you will receive, but the less chance of successfully reaching your destination.

Payment depends on the size of your bet, as well as on the number of symbols that launched the game. The second bonus game starts after the appearance of 4 or 5 images of the mercenary. You will alternately open one of the three doors. Behind it, there may be gold bars that bring winnings, the size of which depends on your bet and the number of symbols that triggered the bonus game. Also, behind the door you can expect a coefficient that multiplies the current win by 2 times, a sign with the inscription "EXIT", or a mercenary with a random function.

The game lasts until you come across a table indicating the exit. As soon as this happens, all winnings will be transferred to the main balance. Unlike most virtual slot machines, Around the World slot has an original doubling game, which can be launched after any winning combination.

You will enter the locomotive driver's cab, where you will need to open one of the screws to supply fuel. If you unscrew the wrong screw, the locomotive's engine will explode, which means Phileas Fogg will lose a lot of time, leaving you without a reward. If the propeller chosen by you starts the train, then your winnings will increase by 2 times.

Through deserts, forests, seas, and oceans, you will have to make your way around the earth, and at the same time meet the deadline, which will be reminded by the clock on the drums. Circumstances will often not be in your favor, so it's always a good idea to have a spare trump card up your sleeve.

But do not forget that our Englishman has a sharp mind and the ability to quickly navigate the current situation, and he took care of all the nuances in advance. Like many other slot machines with money withdrawal, around Sveta has additional bonuses, which include 2 bonus games. The first of them is launched when 4 or 5 mercenaries appear at the same time. Behind it may be an impressive prize, or there may be a sign with the inscription "exit", indicating the end of the game. The second bonus game starts when 4 or 5 trains appear on the reels.

Online game Rise of Atlantis - free

Here you have to temporarily become a locomotive driver and choose one of 6 routes. Keep in mind, the faster the route, the more you will get paid for it, but the more dangerous the whole trip will be, and the greater the chance of not reaching your destination at all. If you play for free, you can take risks, but if you are playing in a real online casino, I would recommend sticking to stability. Each person on earth is unique, that is, individual and has a number of differences and features from others. We look at the same things differently, and sometimes we do not agree with the opinions of other people around us. Someone is sure that contemporary art is incomprehensible and useless, while someone believes that this is an amazing world that opens up to people who are able to penetrate and understand the whole essence of a particular work. So, let's start with the fact that a few friends who love travel began to have a dialogue about how many days it takes or years to go around the earth and visit every corner of the Earth. They argued for a long time, but at one point a very wealthy man came into the bar and wanted to bet that these two friends would never be able to go around the axis around the earth in 80 days in the game.

It was a resonance, a sensation that exploded in that very second. A wealthy and famous person decided to bet and, moreover, for a very substantial amount.

We bought the board (as well as floor, knee, bed and whatever) game "Around the World" from the "Knowledge Chest" series for children for Hanukkah. The game is excellent - entertaining, informative, fun, fast (if you want - play for 10 minutes, if you want - sort through all the cards for 2 hours), you can play alone, or you can play with a company.

In fact, the series of games "Knowledge Chest" is quite large. In addition to the game "Around the World" (geography), there are games "World History", "Great Inventions", "Art", "In the Animal World", "World of Mathematics". There are games for younger children: "Nature", "Russia", "Tales", "Learn English", "ABC". There are also for very little ones: "My first pictures", "My first knowledge". Beauty!

The game is placed in a square box - everything is neatly there:

What's in the game? 71 cards, a card with the rules of the game, an hourglass, an octagonal cube - "non-cube" :)

Each card is a separate country. The flag of the country is drawn on the card, the main sights, the name of the capital is written, and the geography of the country is also indicated

On the back of the card - 8 questions, the answers to which are drawn on the other side of the card

There are three cards not by country, but by topic: flags, sights of different countries, people of different countries

The aim of the game is very simple: to get as many cards as possible by answering the questions correctly. Answered correctly - the card is yours. Wrong - the card is discarded.

Before the start of the game, we put a stack of cards in the middle of the table with countries down, put an hourglass, put a cube. The first player draws a card

The second flips the hourglass - 10 seconds gone!

During these 10 seconds, the player must remember as many elements and names as possible about the country that fell to him

10 seconds over? Turn over the card and roll the die. Let's say the number 7 fell out - which means you need to answer the seventh question.

Well, what is the name of that same Armenian mountain?

All answers to questions are posted in the picture, so you need to look carefully: what you miss is your own fault.

I regularly lose, it is difficult for me to remember unfamiliar words in 10 seconds. Well, if Russia, Ukraine or Israel falls out, but what if the Seychelles, Bolivia or Bangladesh?

Separate moments: some literate people made up the game (see question No. 4). For some reason, typos in games annoy me more than in books. Maybe because in the game you need to check less voluminous text, and you can really try

This game is also sold in Israel, published, respectively, in Hebrew. Our friends bought this game and I had the opportunity to compare the cards. Look at the Israel card in two games - it's called "spot the 10 differences". The national fruit in Hebrew is an orange, which is understandable. But why persimmon? Birds are also different. Well, with the attraction in general, everything is transparent ...

A fascinating game based on the plot of the famous novel by Jules Verne, immerses you in the fascinating world of wandering around the world. Players travel around the world for 80 days on trains, ships, balloons, encountering incredible incidents and competing with each other for victory.

In 80 days you have to go around the entire globe, overcoming oceans, deserts and other difficulties.

Plot

Phileas Fogg, a gentleman to the core, and his faithful companions, who have made a bet that they can circumnavigate the globe in 80 days, leave London. In 80 days they have to go around the entire globe, overcoming oceans, deserts and other very numerous difficulties.

The playing field is a real map of the world, divided into 10 parts: from London the path lies to Paris, then the wanderers need to get to Brindisi and have time to board the ship to the Suez Canal.

To move around the world between locations, various options are provided. The main modes of transport of the Victorian era are, of course, ships and trains. To move to a new level, you should use the appropriate situations of the Travel Card: by sea - on ships, by land - on trains.

It is important to remember the terms set in the bet

It is important to remember the terms agreed in the bet. Each Journey Card contains a certain number of days to travel in a compartment or cabin. But the choice between modes of transport and the time period is not the most important and exciting of what is important to consider during the game Around the World. Much more significant is the Action chosen by the wanderer when receiving the Card. It opens up the possibility of moving around the world in a balloon board game quiz, ahead of other participants, the cash earnings needed to reroll the die, and even delaying rivals.

In the course of the movement, many details should be taken into account: ahead of the accomplices, the traveler acquires one additional advantage, the straggler - another. It is important to guess the correct action and time! While in the location, you can get good cards, but an excessive delay promises a loss in the bet.

In general, the board game from the Zvezda company Around the World in 80 Days is very atmospheric. By moving the figures of characters surrounded by illustrations familiar from childhood, you can completely immerse yourself in the fascinating, mysterious world of wanderings and discoveries.

The set contains all the necessary paraphernalia for a real trip around the world.

What's in the play set

The set contains all the necessary paraphernalia for a real trip around the world:

  • rules in Russian with illustrative material;
  • playing field;
  • throwing dice;
  • 13 character figurines;
  • 6 betting certificates;
  • 30 travel cards on trains and ships;
  • 24 gold coins;
  • 15 events;
  • First Circle Player badge.

Gameplay and rules

The board game Around the World has simple rules. But, before you start to act, you should prepare:

  1. From the frame, separate the evidence of the bet, game chips, coins, the sign of the first player.
  2. Mix the chips and spread them randomly around the field, which can be turned over at the request of the participants. Near each city (with the exception of London) there are two round zones for them: one for the blue chip, the second for the orange one.
  3. Distribute the colors that you will play with. Distribute to each opponent according to the evidence of a bet of the corresponding color and 2 figures: one is installed at the beginning of the path, the second - in the zone where the countdown of days begins.
  4. A black figure - Detective, set at the beginning of her journey - the city of Brindisi.
  5. Shuffle the Travel cards and distribute 3 to each participant. The remaining ones are put into a deck in a specially designated place in the lower corner of the main field.
  6. Shuffle the Event cards and stack them in the deck in the upper right corner.
  7. Give all travelers 1 gold coin each, leave the rest in the bank.
  8. Choose the First Player of the circle: everyone in turn rolls the die, whoever rolls the highest value will go first. If the same numbers are rolled, the die must be rerolled.

Circles are considered stages of the game. On each of them, all opponents make one move.

The passage of one stage is as follows:

  • The first wanderer raises Travel cards from the top of the deck (4 - with three participants, 5 - with 4 wanderers, 6 - with 5-6 opponents);
  • places them face up in the lower zone of the playing field under the action symbols from left to right. Each card should be under the symbol of a specific action;
  • chooses one of the laid out cards and, if desired, performs the indicated action (for example, takes a submarine, distracts the detective, inflates a balloon). He can then move to a nearby city by moving his figure;
  • the next participant to the left of the First Player does the same.

playing field

On a special ruler, each participant notes the time spent. When all opponents have made their moves, the circle ends.

What does victory depend on?

Approximately 15% is due to luck, the rest - to prudence and logic. Geographical position should be determined strategically in a board game: by acting correctly in a quiz, the whole world can be circled much faster than in the stipulated 80 days.

The game brings together friends and relatives
