-1994 . Popular love (and then hatred) for MMM is associated with it.

The role of Leni was played by theater and film actor Vladimir Sergeevich Permyakov.

After some time, the actor shared his impressions and said:

We were paid 200-250 dollars for a shooting day. We filmed once a month. Creatively, I liked playing Lyonya Golubkov. I just swam in this role. It was like a role written especially for me.

TASHKENT, March 4 - Sputnik. I met the actor Vladimir Permyakov at the Moscow Cinema House at a creative evening directed by Shukhrat Abbasov. Permyakov was sitting in the chair next to me, and his face seemed not even familiar, but almost familiar. “What kind of delusion is this?” I thought, trying to understand who it was. Sharikov? Rather, the actor Vladimir Tolokonnikov? No. Stuntman Inshakov? Also no. And who then?

Apparently, the intense work of thought was reflected in the expression of my face, because the mystery man himself suggested the answer: "I am Lenya Golubkov." And then everything became clear. And even why the artist's face seemed almost native.

Lev Ryzhkov

There were a lot of TV commercials in the 90s, but all of them have sunk into oblivion. And Lenya Golubkov is remembered, because in some absolutely incredible way he became native to so many in the former USSR. Women recognized Lena as their husbands and sons-in-law. The men are usually neighbors. Children are parents. In an era when the cinema was practically destroyed, the people's archetypal image was presented to the inhabitants of the disintegrated country by intrusive television advertising.

"Did you buy boots for your wife?" I asked him almost automatically. “Usually I say that I bought and drank it,” Lenya answered. “But in fact I don’t drink.”

Permyakov invited the Sputnik journalist to the charity performance "Uncle Vanya", in which he himself played Telegin. Theater production "Museum of Man".

After the performance, Vladimir Permyakov and I started talking about the birth of the folk archetype and financial pyramids.

Played cacti, hussars and drunkards

- Who were you before the role of Leni Golubkov?

I was an actor. He worked in the theaters of Kansk, Tobolsk, then in Moscow. I played, as a rule, heroes from the people. But, it happened, and officers.

At first I studied at the Moscow theater studio, from 1981 to 1984. One day I went on vacation to hometown Kansk, Krasnoyarsk Territory, and there he met a charming woman, whose name was Zina. We got married, and then I left to finish my studies. Zina wrote to me: "I can't wait for you all my life. I have to arrange personal matters." And I returned to Kansk.

- Because of Zina, it turns out?

Yes. I started working at the Kansk Drama Theatre. But, unfortunately, life did not work out for my wife and I, and we divorced. Zina put pressure on me: “Why are you working as an actor for these pennies? You have to go to a construction site. They pay well, they give apartments.” And I understand it, on the one hand. But I am no builder. I have no calling for this. Then I married my neighbor Galya.

- Did Zina stay in the next apartment?

No. Opposite, across the street. There was her house. We got married. Well, it seems that they lived well, but Galya is also a woman from the people. She did not understand these spiritual values. We were completely strangers. She was far from the theater ...

- And it turned out the second time they stepped on the same rake?

Yes Yes. And we got divorced. And then I went to Tobolsk. I finally took place there as a professional. I remember that in the fairy tale "Snow White" I played three roles: a cactus, a huntsman and an executioner. In another fairy tale, the wind played. In "Macbeth" he played a servant and a ghost. In "Ladies and Hussars" - a gendarme and a hussar.

- Mustache, probably pasted?

Certainly. In every performance where I played, they praised me, they said: "Permyakov is growing." But big roles were not given. And I wanted to somehow get out of these pants. And I went to Moscow, entered the theater studio. I worked there for a year. I received 150 rubles, paid 300 for an apartment. And in order to survive, I worked three jobs. He washed the floor, cleaned the stage, distributed tickets.

Lev Ryzhkov

The poverty was terrible. And the shelves in the stores are empty - just the cards were introduced for products. And I didn’t have money, and I didn’t have food, and I didn’t have a residence permit. I rented a room in Otradnoye. All the time he was in debt, like in silks. You will earn, and you will give almost everything. A year later, I felt like a downtrodden horse. I quit my job and since the end of 1992 I have only worked in films.

- And who and where did you play?

I played my first film role in 1992 in the movie "The General". There I was the captain of the NKVD, who arrests a fighter. I still remember this scene. "Junior Lieutenant Avdoshin?" - "Yes". "You are under arrest." Then I starred in a video with Igor Nikolaev. Then in the film "Running on the Sunny Side" he played a drunkard. He comes with his wife to a restaurant, in the eyeballs - but he still wants to drink. Here he pulls his hand, and his wife - bang on his hands! And he looks away disappointed.

And one actor who was filming with us, after filming, comes up to me and says: “I watched your scene. I think that it will be, if not the best, then one of the best in the film. Without saying a word, you said everything ". That is, the whole role was built on facial expressions.

- Did you say you don't drink at all?

I am often invited to drink after the role of Leni Golubkov, but I refuse. It's hard to believe, but I lead a healthy lifestyle. Since my youth I have been doing sports, running, swimming. At premieres, presentations - I drink. But mostly red wine there, champagne. A glass or two. And I don't smoke.

Seventeen Kamaz money

- But let's talk about your most famous role. How did you become Lena?

I got the role of Leni Golubkov by chance. At first they invited another artist, with a different type. But he was not at home. We searched in the card index, at Mosfilm. And the director of "Wick" Tamara Korshunova suggested me: "There is such a Volodya Permyakov, who just meets all the criteria."

She called me and asked: "Volodya, are you free on Saturday?" I say yes". She: "Well, come to Nagatinskaya. Come at 9 o'clock in the morning. At the first carriage." And he adds: "Dress worse, in everything old." I ask: "Proletarian play?" She says: "No, this is not a movie. I'll tell you later." And so, when I arrived at the site, I realized that the director is also a man from the people. Knowing the Russian peasant, his inner world, intellect, emotions, I built the image of Leni Golubkov. It was based on people's sincerity and spontaneity, naivety. Well, there was some easy improvisation.

And Lenya became his own. Everyone really took him for a man of the people. Many thought that this man came to buy shares, he was filmed and shown.

- Did you have a wife at that time?

I was divorced. And maybe I'm the only one who managed to survive. Because there was no work, he rented a room, lived on bread and water in terrible poverty. And if it weren't for MMM, I don't know. It is unlikely that I would have stayed in Moscow for a few more years.

Did you get rich after filming?

When MMM was drowned, I was left with nothing - without a job and without money. There was no money even for the subway to go to the casting. Sometimes you come to the casting, and everyone asks: "Are you in your car or on the subway?" I say: "Metro". And I am silent that I barely found this trifle.

- MMM, in your opinion, dispersed for the cause or not?

Yeltsin needed money, but the treasury was empty. And now - either they came up with it themselves, or someone suggested it to them. And in the summer, under all sorts of plausible pretexts, they began to run into MMM. At first they banned advertising on TV, although Mavrodi paid for everything. And then, on August 26, MMM was drowned. Seventeen KamAZ vehicles were taken out of the main office. And they made a scapegoat out of Mavrodi and imprisoned a peasant, in general, for nothing.

MMM was drowned, and in November 1994 GKOs were opened. And, criticizing MMM, they promoted T-bills. Like, who to believe? These rogues? Mavrodi? Well, there is a state lottery! Bring money here if you want to be rich and happy. Well, the people fell for it, dragged the money into the GKO. And they declared bankruptcy in 8-10 months. They threw everyone, they took the money for themselves.

A journalist friend told me: "Volodya! MMM compared to the GKO is just childish talk." And another journalist called me, already when MMM was drowned, he offered: "Volodya, we will pay you three thousand dollars, just say bad things about Mavrodi!" I say: "If I say nasty things about him, I will cease to respect myself, but is it worth living after that?" Although I was then without money, sitting all in debt.

- That is, the role of Leni turned into bad luck?

At first I thought it was an accident. And then I realized that she was not accidental. This is my destiny, my destiny. All the will of God. And my fate is the cross of Leni Golubkov.

But in general, my character has outgrown the frame of a star, has become a cult. As if fairy tale hero. Like Ivanushka, Emelya, Vasilisa the Beautiful. Like epic heroes.

- In general, it turns out, no dividends?

But why? In 1997 I wrote the book How I Became Lenya Golubkov. And with this money, in general, I bought an apartment. Then they were cheap compared to today. And now I have a roof over my head. And this is very important for Moscow.

Beloved wife and twins

- And how did you survive for three years - from the collapse of MMM to buying an apartment?

In 1994 I met the woman of my dreams - Natalya Remizova. On September 21, Natasha and I met at the film "I do not allow memory censorship" by Alexander Porokhovshchikov. There were a lot of people, I gave way to someone in the corridor. And Natasha stood at the door. And I cuddled a little so unobtrusively. She raised her head: "Oh! Lenya Golubkov! And you will not give an interview for RIA Novosti." I say, "Yes, no problem."

And then Natasha started calling me, inviting me to parties. She was a gossip columnist and was a leading journalist at RIA Novosti. We lived with her for a year and a half in a civil marriage. Then they signed. And they lived together for about a year.

Once Natasha went to the dentist, sat down in front of the door, she was caught in a draft, she was sweating. And she died, the kingdom of heaven to her. I asked her to bear me an heir. And Natasha kept saying: "Volodya, I have no time." She was going to write a novel.

- That is, thanks to Natasha, you survived difficult times? Or has anyone else helped?

When I was left without work, I was helped by doubles of politicians and artists: Lenin, Stalin, Kirkorov, Pugacheva, Malinin. They extended their hand to me and began to invite me to their place. We were doing a show. They went on tour to the outback, to corporate parties. And fellow actors did not help. This is not the case for actors. If an actor falls into an abyss, none of his colleagues will shake hands with him.

The twins loved Natasha just like a sister. By the way, they were at our wedding. The leaders congratulated us, and the wedding was like a performance. Passed in one breath, dearly.

- With which of the twins were you most friends?

I borrowed money from them first. And then Hitler himself began to give me money, saying: "Giving money to Golubkov is the same as putting it in a bank for safekeeping." Sometimes he will say: "On you for a month, for two. Let them lie down. But I need to go to Tashkent." He lived in Tashkent. And Lenin's double was also from Tashkent. And another Lenin is from Yerevan. In general, there was both poverty and romance.

- Did you have wives after Natasha?

Well, yes. There was another woman that I don't even want to remember. Official. And now I live with a woman in a civil marriage ...

- It turns out, your fifth wife?

Well, yes. According to statistics, on average, actors have five or six women as wives in their lives. So I haven't gone beyond that limit yet. I have one more try.

Dramatic memoir

- You need to write the second volume of memoirs, don't you think?

And I wrote. I recently completed a play on which I have very high hopes. I have been writing it for over ten years.

- What is it about?

The plot was given to me by life itself. I decided to write about a family in which the wife cannot or does not want to give birth to a child. And the husband finds a surrogate mother who gives birth to a child. I started writing while Natasha was still alive, in 1996. I enrolled in courses for playwrights, and the most famous playwrights Mikhail Shatrov and Alexander Gelman gave me valuable advice.

At first, I had a happy ending: the hero comes with doubles to pick up the child. The leaders are coming. Khrushchev looks: "We will sow the whole country with corn with him." Brezhnev looks: "We will win all the medals with him." Yeah. Hitler: "And we will capture the whole world with him. The whole world will be ours." And after Natasha's death, I made the ending tragic. Because otherwise it would be blasphemous.

- What is the name of the play?

First there was "The Birth of a Baby". And then I realized that it's better to just do "Birth". The hero comes to God. And there is a revival of Russia. New, spiritual Russia. That is, for me the play "Birth" is more than a play. This is a prayer play, a repentance play, a memory play. The memory of the wife, a play-generalization, a rethinking of our history, the meaning of which is that we did not build communism, because we built it without God.

- Who will bet?

Well, there are several directors. But everyone says: "Volodya, look for a sponsor! We have no money in the theater." By the way, you can stage it in Tashkent, in the Russian theater. The play will go with a bang, because it is spectacular, dynamic.

And in general, the people are tired of chernukha and porn. This was relevant in the 90s, but now it has already been overfed. My play is pure, bright, noble, about love. That is, what the viewer needs now.

P.S. After talking, Vladimir Permyakov and I went down to the subway. And then it turned out that every second person recognizes him. Vladimir smiled softly and wisely. And one girl, shy, asked him: "Excuse me, but did you buy boots for your wife?"

The performer of the role of Lenya Golubkov started an affair with parodist Olga Munchausen Very soon, actor Vladimir Permyakov celebrates his 65th birthday.

In 1992, the role of the excavator driver Leni Golubkov in the MMM advertisement made him a star. When the financial pyramid was covered with a copper basin, a terrible popular anger fell upon the poor fellow. Today, when the country is used to the collapse of banks, the artist is not looked at so harshly, every now and then they offer to skip a mug of beer.

Lenya Golubkov - all MMM commercials

On the eve of the anniversary, we asked Vladimir to visit.

Vladimir Permyakov lives in a panel building on the outskirts of Moscow. He has to rent two rooms in a three-room apartment. Old repairs, faded furniture - there is not even a crumb from Mavrodi's capital.
- In the folk theater in Kansk, I played the role of a teacher Makarenko and could not think that I would become famous for the "prudent investor" Lenya Golubkov, - Permyakov laughs. - My parents are rural, my father is a groom, my mother worked at the elevator, but since childhood I had a craving for art.
- Did your women encourage such dreams later?

I have been married twice to ordinary women. The first, Zina, sent me to a construction site: they say, don’t fool around, go earn money. Divorced, began to live with a housemate - Galina. But she dreamed only of carpets and gold. I broke up with Galya, went to Tobolsk, where I got a job in the theater. Then, through the actor's exchange, he got into a small Moscow theater. I paid 300 rubles for an apartment, and received 150. I had to sell tickets, clean up the stage, and still act in films. They didn’t give me big roles, hinting that I was an unknown artist. A year later, I left the theater and was able to devote more time to film auditions. Then I got into advertising.

Vladimir is glad that Olga understands him well
- Were you immediately taken on the role of Leni Golubkov?
- They chose another actor, with a peasant type. But he was not at home on the day of filming. The director of "Wick" Tamara Korshunova worked as a casting director for MMM advertising and invited me: "Volodya, come, just dress worse, in everything old." Lenya Golubkov, a native of the people who decided to invest in MMM, played without difficulty. According to the Stanislavsky system, as if I myself decided to buy shares. The plot was shown, and from that moment Leni's separate life began.
- How much did you pay?
- 1000 rubles, about a hundred dollars at that time. Then they increased it to $200. I know that Mexican movie star Victoria Ruffo from Just Maria was paid several tens of thousands of dollars. She was not capricious, resignedly changed clothes after each shooting. Her appearance in advertising was a bomb. The papers said it was a doppelgänger. And when she flew away, obviously fabricated interviews came out, where she allegedly said that she had no idea that she was filming for MMM ... Time passed, my hero became a businessman, went to the USA, and then MMM collapsed. In 1996, Yeltsin needed money for the elections, and the country was in ruins. They decided to take the funds from MMM. First they banned advertising on TV, although Mavrodi paid 10 million to only one channel. The money was never returned to him.

After the collapse of MMM, about 10 million Russians suffered, 50 people committed suicide. Did you keep money there yourself?

“I didn’t have any money to keep. Mavrodi always said: "If you care about people like that, give money to depositors." He said that when he was arrested, money was taken out of the central office by Kamaz vehicles. And where do they go? Why weren't they given to the people?

Star Victoria RUFFO starred in advertising with Permyakov. Frame: Youtube.com
- You, that is, Lenya Golubkov, the people hated.
- The newspapers wrote that Leni Golubkov has a house in Paris, on the Canary Islands, but I didn’t even have money for the metro. I was persecuted as "the face of" MMM ", staged provocations. One correspondent invited me to go fishing, and there women swim naked. One says: “Oh, give me a hand, help me out!” And the next day, the headline: “Contact Lenya, stay naked!” They dragged me into a bathhouse with nudists, and then they wrote that I invited some woman to have sex.
- And where does the money for the apartment come from?
- Acquired with the proceeds from the book "How I Became Lenya Golubkov." I am grateful to him, I understand that this character has become a landmark in the history of Russia. I am often asked to stand with outstretched arms, like Lenin, and take pictures. So they wrote: "Lenin built socialism, and Lenya Golubkov built capitalism." I tried to change my appearance: I put on glasses, grew a beard, but they still recognize me.

Beloved died

- Personal life with the advent of national fame, probably, began to beat in full swing?
- In 1994, I met journalist Natasha Remizova. We began to live in a civil marriage, and everything went well, but she wanted more. Once she says: “Volodya, a year has passed since we met, but nothing has changed. I let you go". I respected and loved her, so six months later we went to the registry office. Natasha set the condition that she should give birth to an heir to me, but it didn’t work out ... At first, my wife did everything to please me, and then she began to tighten the screws. I could not stand it: “Natalie, you are not just a woman for me, but a goddess. I don’t want to lose these feelings: let’s part.” But Natalie loved me and after that she became softer. Our happiness lasted another year. But in February 1997, his wife caught the flu. He turned into pneumonia, edema occurred, and a month later, at the age of 46, Natasha died. I was crushed.
Time heals the wounds of the soul...
- I have a beloved woman - this is an artist and parodist Olga Munchausen. She is a creative person who understands me well. We started an affair, although I don’t know yet if I’m getting married or not. Neither for Olya, nor for me it is not so important.

- Are they still invited to advertising?
- Last year I advertised phones. Soon there will be another advertisement - household appliances. In the film with the working title "Rubens Dickens" he recently played a Cossack. The hardest part is getting the part. If it were not for Lenya Golubkov, no one would have invited me to the cinema. As Oleg Tabakov said: “We film each other, praise each other and reward each other.” This joke is at least 101 percent true.
- What do you do in free time?
- I play football in the acting team "Serial". I run six kilometers almost every day and, starting in early spring, I swim in the Moscow River. An actor needs to keep in shape even at 65!

Learned how to kiss

I was bribed by the fact that Volodya is kind and honest, - Olga Munchausen admitted. - But kissing at the beginning of our relationship with him was simply impossible! Imagine that an aquarium fish swam up to you with its mouth open, stuck into the cherished places, and each separation was accompanied by the sound of a cork flying out of the bottle. But Volodya is capable, now everything works out for him as it should.

"It's just that Mavrodi appeared at the wrong time and in the wrong country. Around the mafia and they drowned him, and with him all the people who believed Mavrodi," Permyakov believes.

He was an amazing person, an incredible personality. Smart, romantic, very kind and... unclaimed. But in our world, how: if they want to drown, they will drown. So in ordinary life, and in the cinema. I know what I'm talking about. I went through it myself. Now, if I were the Minister of Finance, I would definitely offer the position of my adviser to Sergei Mavrodi. I can only be grateful to him for what he has done for me.

I have never seen it at all. He didn't come to the site. I completely trusted the whole process to the creative team, and we did what we wanted. We thought that he would send us with our ideas to hell, but he liked everything. And precisely because he did not interfere in anything, advertising for the first time became not a hack, but an art. The life of Leni Golubkov was watched as a national series. Everyone was interested in my relationship with Marina Sergeevna, with my brother Ivan.

By the way, how are they now? Creatively?

Marina Sergeevna - Margarita Kalinina, I know, worked as a guide for some time. Brother Ivan - Vyacheslav Vorobyov, taught philosophy. I play in the theater "Museum of Man", the role of Dymov, Telegin in "Uncle Vanya". They call me a completely Chekhov character.

- And how many stellar videos were shot with Golubkov and Co.?

Five or six real hits. "Buy boots", "Not a freeloader, but a partner", "The growth of the welfare of the Golubkov family" - these are the most famous. Then MMM was recognized as a scam and our advertising was banned at once for all federal channels, we were still on cable for a while.

- But wasn't the scheme of the financial pyramid initially rotten and would not sooner or later lead to its collapse?

No, it was not Mavrodi who was to blame for the collapse of the MMM. Everything worked great for him. He was just framed. Those who realized that you can make big money on this and used his idea. After all, what is MMM - in fact, it was a people's bank, it is based on the principles of the banking system, receives money from the population, invests it in various projects that bring profit and interest to depositors.

Mavrodi, among other things, invested finances in large companies, his projects included plants and factories. But none of this happened, because the then leadership of the country, primarily Yeltsin and Chernmyrdin, decided to sink the Mavrodi and create their own financial pyramid GKO. They had unlimited administrative resources and the first thing they did was to forbid our advertising on the main TV channels, they said - do not trust Mavrodi, he is a scammer, trust only the state lottery. We will not deceive.

- But the T-bills eventually also collapsed, which led to the crisis of the "black" August 1998.

Only Mavrodi has nothing to do with it. And, note that in this case, no criminal case was initiated against anyone. I'm talking about the mafia everywhere! In August 1998, the dollar collapsed for the first time, while under Mavrodi it kept afloat largely thanks to the existence of the MMM.

- Did you buy these shares yourself?

Where? I was a young actor, poor, completely unknown. I didn't have that kind of money either. I lived in a rented apartment in Otradnoye. Lenya Golubkov became my star chance. They paid me at that time somewhere around a hundred dollars. But if it weren't for Golubkov, it's not a fact that I would have become famous. There are many good actors, and everyone is pushing their own everywhere. So thanks exclusively to Mavrodi for my fame.

- Your names - Golubkov-Mavrodi, stand side by side, like twin brothers. How long ago did you last see him?

A couple of years ago, on the set of MMM on one of the television channels. Then they decided to make a film about Lena Golubkov, as a Russian national hero, for a long time they made their way through Mavrodi's secretary to agree on filming. As a result, the interview with Mavrodi lasted several hours.

If you yourself had to play this famous person, either a brilliant financier, or no less brilliant swindler, what would you do with him?
