In 1989, the group recorded the song "Julia" (music by B. Serkebaev and B. Shukenov, lyrics by V. Mikloshich), which falls to. The group starts under the name "Almata" and in 1988 releases its first vinyl album "The Way Without Stops" at the Melodiya company. The concert program of the group at that time is a combination of experiments on Kazakh folk melodies and songs with elements of new wave and funk. After the release of the album, the group changes its name to "Almata-Studio".
