Preschoolers love to draw. At the age of 4-6 years, the kid has already mastered the basic skills of handling a pencil, felt-tip pens, brushes and paints. How to teach a child to draw simple but realistic drawings at 4, 5, 6 years old, what step-by-step schemes to use, what to stock up on for a child’s creative search and how to teach him to create plot pictures?

We will try to answer all questions.

The benefits of drawing for children

Many parents have heard about the benefits of drawing.

Drawing for children 4, 5, 6 years old helps:

  • stimulate fine motor skills;
  • develop speech;
  • correctly formulate thoughts, put them into sentences;
  • express yourself;
  • assert themselves;
  • develop a creative approach;
  • develop attentiveness, perseverance, diligence.

Among other things, drawing is capable of:

  • give positive emotions;
  • strengthen the memorization of the material;
  • give a signal to parents about the complexes and problems that the child has;
  • overcome the fear of starting work from scratch;
  • lay the foundations of aesthetic perception.

You can get a lot of benefits from drawing if you conduct classes correctly. The main thing is not to overdo it and not discourage the child from wanting to draw anything at all and ever.

What to buy a child for drawing

Pledge good lessons for drawing - the correct preparation of the process. Children do not like to wait, and if a creative impulse happens, you need to be 100% ready:

  • Paper. Take sheets of A3 format. Children at 4-6 are only developing their eye and, carried away by drawing the head of the beast, they forget to leave room for the body.
  • Simple pencil. Children use it to create basic contours. Take it marked HB, it does not crumble and is not too greasy.
  • Eraser. This is an indispensable thing for erasing unnecessary borders and dashes. You can buy, or you can make an exclusive one, using special plasticine. For one thing, remember classes in "plasticine modeling" - which is not bad for a variety of activities.
  • Colored pencils and markers. The wider their palette, the happier the child.
  • Sharpener. Do not save, buy a good, professional one. So the kid will not be angry that she does not sharpen, breaks the rod, etc., but will draw with pleasure.
  • Wax crayons. They are good for painting contours.
  • Paints. If the baby is 4-5 years old - this is gouache. At 6 years old, you can give your baby watercolor. These paints are transparent, lively, but require certain skills.
  • Brushes. Select large (for background), medium (for wide lines) and small (for drawing outlines). Choose the diameter of the shaft the same as that of a writing pen - the child's fingers will begin to prepare for the inscription of letters and numbers.
  • Jar for water. You can use a regular glass or buy a special one.
  • Palette. The child will certainly need to mix colors.
  • Colored crayons. Who knows, suddenly inspiration will visit a child on a walk?
  • Soap and towel. No matter how neat a child is, if he works with paints, they will have arms to the elbow, and cheeks, and nose. You really believe.

When everything is bought, carefully consider the creative corner of the child:

  • Lighting. The place for drawing should be well lit - no one needs vision problems at such a young age.
  • Availability. The child should get all the art supplies without getting up from the chair.
  • Practicality. Make sure that all surfaces are easy to clean and that the child is able to clean up after themselves.

When everything is ready, you can get to work!

How to teach a child to draw trees step by step

A tree is the simplest drawing that can be taught to draw a child even at 4 years old, using a step-by-step scheme as a basis. With the image of trees using straight lines and geometric shapes, the baby is already familiar. Let's complicate the task and add realism to the tree. Here is how we will draw a deciduous tree:

  1. Draw a tubercle, above it - a circle and connect the two objects with straight lines (this is the trunk).
  2. Draw a smile on the circle that will pass through the top points of the straight lines. Draw branches to it.
  3. Make the edge of the crown uneven, highlight the places where the branches enter, draw the trunk and grass on the tubercle. The tree is ready!

By the same principle - from simple schematic outlines to the desired contours - draw a spruce and a birch, as shown in the following pictures.

It is convenient that the trunk and branches can be drawn with a pencil, and the child is free to create the crown as he wishes. Fingerprints, brush strokes, pencil strokes. In any case, the tree will turn out alive and real.

How to teach a child to draw animals step by step

For drawing animals with children 4-6 years old, use the same method. Draw the frame using geometric shapes and give it a shape.

Let's explore this point with an example. best friend human-dog:

  1. Draw a circle and an irregular oval - this is the head and torso of the dog.
  2. Connect the two roundness with smooth lines - this is the neck.
  3. Add a snout and tail.
  4. Draw an ear and paws.
  5. We paint over the ear, draw the nose, eyes and tongue, add the contour of the second pair of paws, erase unnecessary borders - the dog is ready to guard the yard!

The yard can be drawn around the dog later. Add a house, a booth, a fence - and the plot drawing is ready!

According to the principle of a dog, try to portray:

  • kitten
  • duck;
  • horse;
  • pig.

If the kid wants a horse on the run, just lift the front of the body higher when drawing and “bend” the front legs of the horse at the knee, let the mane and tail flutter in the wind.

How to teach a child to draw a person step by step

One of the first desires of a child is to draw mom, dad and himself. At first, these are stick men, but this version of a baby at 4 years old will not suit, and an angular little man ceases to seem like a good drawing already at 5 years old. And the child also wants a person to do something on paper.

Let's try to draw a boy about to play chess:

If a child is seriously interested in drawing people and what you offer him does not suit him because of disproportion, show the little artist the following diagram:

Here are the proportions of people of different ages, the child may be interested in this, and he will try to draw a real proportional person. This information is relevant for children 6 years old.

Autumn landscape - step by step drawing for children

The easiest way for children 4-5 years old to paint is to create a landscape.

Let's take the autumn one - it is the most colorful:

  1. Do not force a 4 year old to draw. Doesn't want to - replace the drawing. Bored? Try switching his attention to . For him, drawing can be a passed stage, and he fulfills himself through other activities.
  2. If a kid at 5-6 years old has completely “draughted”, distract him from his favorite pastime or introduce elements of such games into his gatherings for an album. The baby should develop harmoniously.
  3. Talk to your child about his drawings. A simple “wow, beauty” is not enough. Ask what is happening in the picture, why everything is so, and not otherwise - the baby will be pleased with your attention.
  4. Do not compare the work of the baby with one sample. The sun can be represented by a hundred various ways. Do not instill in your child a complex that this is not how he will succeed, encourage the individuality of his work.
  5. Keep the child's work. And he is pleased, and in old age you will have something to see and remember.

Drawing for children - video

This video shows how to draw a person. They tell how to calculate the proportions of a person.

This video shows a detailed tutorial on painting with watercolors. Details on how to prepare for such an event.

Drawing is a useful activity for children. By drawing, the child trains attention, memory and hand, and by talking about what he has drawn, he exercises his speech. For some children, drawing is a real outlet, their own world, from which they cannot be torn off. Not all children become artists, but all children's drawings are masterpieces for their parents.

Does your child draw a lot? What does your child like to draw the most? If you have interesting ideas for children's drawings or experience on how to teach children to draw 4-6 years old, share it with us in the comments!

During the senior preschool age Many parents begin to actively prepare their child for the upcoming education. They are increasingly thinking that it would be useful to teach him to draw. Here and creativity, and perseverance, and the work of the hand. How to teach a child to draw 5 or 6 years old?

Useful activity

Of course, artistic skills need to be developed and encouraged in a child, the benefits of drawing for a future student are obvious:

  • development of fine motor skills, preparation of the hand for writing;
  • fantasy development,
  • the skill of perceiving colors, arranging objects, creating a composition;
  • psychological relief - in the drawing, the child can express what worries him, pleases or excites him;
  • memory training, perseverance;
  • aesthetic development;
  • the skill of self-expression through the necessary materials;
  • development of figurative thinking.

When we learn to draw, we learn, first of all, to see the world through the prism of our inner perception and express it on paper. This is a process necessary for full-fledged development, helping to find extraordinary solutions in difficult situations in the future.

But here the question arises: do the usual drawing lessons teach this? After all, on them the child receives an algorithm, a clear instruction, according to which he works on his sheet of paper. This is just a technical implementation of a clearly defined task, honing the skill of using pencils or brushes with paints. Action according to instructions. Is there something in this from true creativity, self-expression, the embodiment of one's own plan? But the child gets used to this approach. Then he "acts according to the instructions" in other situations, gradually forgetting about his fantasy, inner world like something unclaimed.

Hence the question: is such a teaching necessary at all? It is impossible to teach a child to draw. We either give him a clear scheme that kills his individuality, or we simply help him learn to express something of his own in a drawing, look for his own methods, ways of working, plots. Although in reality it is not always easy. How to teach? Suggest, show, explain, advise, switch…

Don't skimp on drawing materials. Pencils that scratch the sheet and constantly break, brushes that “fade” to the drawing, current felt-tip pens will discourage anyone from drawing.

We help to learn

So, the task of an adult is to help the child learn to draw and develop this skill. You need to do this in stages: first master the most simple lines, figures, working methods and materials, gradually complicating the tasks:

  • learn to use pencils, paints, brushes, felt-tip pens;
  • we show unusual ways of drawing (stamping, abstraction, etc.);
  • we help to master each color: both as a concrete and as an abstract concept (what associations does each color cause: objects, tastes, smells, tactile sensations, sounds);
  • we help to gradually move from a simple task to a more complex one.

For example, to draw a man, Small child will act on the principle of "stick - stick - cucumber". On initial stage It's enough. With age, if the development of the child is given the necessary attention, he, drawing, will already know that the head is not just a “round”: it has eyes, a nose, a mouth, it has ears, hair. Then he will learn to draw fingers, nails, hairs on his head, cilia, pupils, shoes. Even later, he will understand that the human body has certain harmonious proportions, and the face has its own individual features, its own expression.

If parents want their child to draw a person with anatomical accuracy, this is exactly what you can teach. In the same drawing circles. But the task is different - to develop Creative skills child. Therefore, it is important to help him learn the world gradually, step by step, in order to reflect new knowledge with the help of lines and colors. After all, drawings for the children themselves are not a “photocopy” from something, successful or not to varying degrees. This is their way to convey to adults something important, experiences, achievements. This is a unique "visual language", a way to develop, think, move forward.

How to help a child develop drawing skills so as not to ruin his personality? The following recommendations will help you do this.

  • Play drawing. Such games will help develop different skills. For example, tactile (drawing to music, in the dark, with eyes closed, with both hands or left hand). Visual perception is trained by drawings from memory or representation, drawing from nature. Figurative thinking - drawings of something fictional, characters of fairy tales. Concentration at the age of 5 is developed by more complex tasks: draw, for example, a fish with all fins and scales.
  • Always rejoice at the child's drawings, praise for any achievement, for creative finds, never blaming or criticizing.
  • Don't force your child to draw. Creativity cannot be forced and thus something can be taught.
  • Do not meddle with your advice if the child does not ask for them. Let him learn to create not at the behest, but at the call of the soul.
  • Collect the works of a young artist in a separate folder and store them carefully: this is important both for him and for you.
  • Engage in its development as a whole. Let him first of all know the world help him with this. Then he will learn to know and express his inner world.
  • Show your interest in the process: when we draw with children, then sculpt what we have depicted, compose a fairy tale about it, look at paintings by great artists, go to exhibitions, talk about art - we get a full-fledged learning process.
  • Try not to lead the child along a certain path, but to help him follow the path that he chooses for himself.
  • Show an example. If your child does not have a craving for drawing, draw something yourself. From the heart and for him.

Yes, teach someone to be brilliant artist impossible. But to help the child develop his artistic ability parents are quite capable.

Toddlers love to draw, but in middle preschool age, their artwork bears little resemblance to anything realistic. How to organize drawing classes for children 4-5 years old in such a way as to instill in the crumbs a love for fine art and teach them how to draw simple drawings? We will tell you how to start classes, what are the benefits of such lessons and what art supplies can be used.

The benefits of drawing

Classes creative activity It is an important element in the development of a child. Preschool children are characterized by visual-figurative thinking, so drawing lessons have great importance at this age stage.

Drawing helps in the development of:

  • imagination;
  • abstract logical thinking;
  • fine motor skills;
  • logic;
  • creative thinking;
  • mindfulness.

And also drawing is an occasion to spend more time with the baby, which has a significant impact on his psycho-emotional development.

Accessories

What supplies you need for classes depends on what you are going to draw with. And you can do it in different ways:

  • fingers;
  • palms;
  • tassels;
  • pencils;
  • felt-tip pens;
  • cotton swabs;
  • cotton wool.

You can use coloring pages or just landscape sheets.

To make drawing for children as effective as possible, use a variety of objects and forms of lessons. For example, you can show a few creative techniques to a child using colored pencils, and the next day reinforce these techniques by drawing with crayons on the pavement, etc. Kids 4-5 years old may not like the monotonous drawing with felt-tip pens or pencils, so it is important to periodically change the methods learning.

5 ideas for learning

To teach a child to draw, you need to know a few interesting tricks that will instantly put the baby in the classroom. Consider them and start with the most suitable one.

  • Blots.

This is an easy way, but kids love it very much. You will need a landscape sheet, paints and brushes. Fold the sheet in half, draw a butterfly wing on one side, then firmly press the halves together so that the wing is imprinted on the empty part. In this way, you can draw not only a butterfly, but also a leaf, a flower, two friends, etc.

  • Geometric figures.

Use familiar baby geometric figures. For example, to draw a girl step by step, use a circle, a line, and a triangle. First, draw the head (show the baby how to draw a circle), from the circle draw a dress in the form of a triangle, legs and arms are drawn, respectively, with lines.

  • Stencils.

Prepare in advance various stencils that the child will first trace and then color. Gradually, he will remember the image and shape, and he will no longer need a stencil to draw a certain object. If the crumbs have a stencil of a square, a triangle and a rectangle, then he will be able to draw a house. Then he will begin to invent what else he could draw from these figures.

  • Imprints.

At 5 years old, children like to paint over something and then make prints. You can start with the palms, then take prints from convex surfaces. Curly seals are now being sold, from which the baby can create images. From the prints of the flower, a flower field is obtained, and above it you can draw the sun from a geometric figure - a circle.

  • Applications.

Combine drawing with other creative techniques. You can draw a background (blue sky, mountains, rocks, etc.), and other objects (stars, clouds, trees) can be cut out of paper, painted and glued to the background. You can also use colored sand or beads.

Conclusion

Drawing with children is part of your communication with them. In the classroom, you constantly talk with the baby, ask leading questions, thinking over which, he comes to certain conclusions. Thus, his ideas about the world are formed. Drawing the sea, the child may never have seen it, but he already knows what color it is and that there are waves on the sea. Depicting a tree, the kid remembers what it consists of, and that the season can be determined from the foliage. Be sure to include drawing lessons in your child's activities, because it contributes to the full formation of his personality.

Man is the most amazing and unique creature in the world. And also one of the most beautiful. This is evidenced by the fact that images of men or women are present on almost every famous painting pertaining to masterpieces visual arts. About how to draw a person: mom, dad or himself, the child thinks from an early age. Some children are inspired to draw circles and squiggles on their own, others require training.

They teach how to draw a person, starting from the younger preschool age. The first sketches of babies resemble scribbles. If the child is constantly exercising, then in preparatory group he is able to quickly draw a person in different poses. It is wonderful if at the same time the young artist conveys facial expressions, portrait resemblance and individual characteristics.

The task of teachers in general education and art schools is to teach how to draw the human body in accordance with the anatomical structure. To do this, several hours in the program of the training course are devoted to academic drawing. The best learning effect is the implementation of sketches from nature.

You can learn how to draw people well at home on your own. For a beginner, all options are good: an image from a photo, video tutorials, the use of paintings and reproductions for sketching, the main thing is to choose a drawing technique to your liking. Many aspiring artists always take a sketchbook with them and make sketches in 5 minutes at any time. If you don’t feel like doing sketches on the street, you can draw relatives and friends, your reflection in the mirror.

How to build an image of a person using geometric shapes

Lesson methodology on a given topic in kindergarten based on the similarity of certain parts of the body with geometric shapes. So, the head of babies is round, in adults it is oval, legs and arms look like rectangles, etc.

You can make a silhouette of a person from any shapes - circles, rectangles, squares.

To solve this problem, the preschooler is given paper or cardboard blanks, and he draws up a layout according to a given scheme or comes up with his own sketch. A more difficult task is to draw a person on your own using geometric shapes.

Step by step drawing of a standing person

Children 6-7 years old are already familiar with the basic drawing techniques. They learned to portray a person in full height, to the waist, in a static pose and in motion. Drawing from nature begins in the preparatory group and in the primary grades. As an auxiliary material in the lesson, you must have reproductions of paintings, photographs, samples of work. Before class, it is advisable to talk with children about the beauty and aesthetics of a person, about the fact that any of us is beautiful and unique.

Step 1

As usual, building a figure begins with a sketch with a simple pencil. First, they look for the correct location of large parts on paper. Then comes the image of an oval head and a torso, consisting of two trapezoids touching at the waist.

Step 2

From the upper corners of the large trapezoid, you need to draw the lines of the arms, and from the bottom of the small trapezoid, the lines of the legs. A common mistake is the same length of arms and legs, you need to pay attention to children that the upper limbs are shorter.

Step 3

The next step is to give volume to the limbs. Shoulders, forearms, thighs and shins are depicted as elongated ovals, tapering downwards.

Step 4

A difficult task for a preschooler is to draw hands and feet. Therefore, fingers with a palm are often recommended to be depicted in the form of mittens, and the lower part of the leg in the form of a triangle. But some children are persistent and want a real realistic drawing, they can be explained how small details are done.

Step 5

At the next stage, extra lines are removed and the silhouette is completed. The sketch of the figure is outlined with a pencil, the head is connected to the body. They add a characteristic detail - the ball in the boy's hand.

Step 6

Now the little man needs to be dressed, then draw the growth lines of the eyebrows, outline the location of the nose, eyes, mouth.

Step 7

A light pencil drawing is completed with detailing of clothing and footwear, facial features. Hair is depicted with broken lines.

Step 8

To get a natural skin tone, use beige or orange. When coloring, do not press hard on the pencil.

Step 9

When painting clothes, it is better to use different shades of the same color, highlighting light and shadow, so the drawing will be more vivid and realistic.

Preschoolers need complete freedom in creativity. There is no single and correct drawing option; you cannot correct the child’s work if he wants to act in his own way. The right solution, if necessary, can be found through conversation and leading questions.

How to draw a person in motion

Middle school students know a lot about the rules for arranging an object in space, taking into account perspective. For students in grades 5–7, it is advisable to start a drawing lesson with an analysis of the structure of the human figure. This is necessary in order to correctly convey the proportions in the drawing, professionally depict body parts, otherwise a real man the picture will resemble a mannequin. Despite the fact that anatomy is studied later, at this age, children already have an idea of \u200b\u200bthe skeleton, muscles and joints.

The first step in the phased construction of a sketch is the definition of proportions. In adults, the length of the torso from the crown to the hips is usually equal to the length of the legs. The height of the head fits into the distance from the chin to the beginning of the thigh about 3 times. In children and adolescents, this figure is less. The length of the legs of a harmoniously built person is equal to the height of the head multiplied by 3.5–4.

You can depict a person depending on the angle or location of the object and the artist. The main positions are in full face, when the sitter is facing the viewer, in profile - when the depicted is located on the side, half-turned or half-faced, in which the face is not fully visible.

Step 1

The pencil drawing begins with a sketch of the head and torso in the foreground. The spine is the basis of the whole figure, it can be outlined with a curved line. Large joints of the shoulders and pelvis are schematically depicted in circles. Sketch lines are drawn easily, without pressure.

Step 2

The next step is to draw the upper and lower limbs. The elbows are at waist level, the length of the humerus is equal to the length of the ulna, the knees are in the middle of the leg. The more accurate the sketch, the better it will be possible to convey the movement.

Step 3

Now you need to build muscle. The most voluminous part of the forearm, thigh and lower leg is located in the upper third, closer to the joint, the limbs gradually narrow. The body is easier to depict in the form of two ovals.

Step 4

Particular attention is paid to the hands and feet. They are also depicted schematically, imitating the skeleton of the limbs. The foot should be longer than the hand.

Step 5

After drawing all parts of the figure, the extra lines are erased. The silhouette is given the necessary outlines: sharp corners are smoothed out, the sides become sloping, parts of the body are connected by curved lines.

Step 6

When depicting a face, proportions must also be observed. The height of the forehead is equal to the distance from the eyebrow line to the tip of the nose and from the tip of the nose to the chin. The distance between the eyes is equal to the length of the eye. The ear is depicted just below the eyebrow line. To make the girl smile, the corners of the lips need to be slightly raised. At this stage, you can sketch the hairstyle.

Step 7

The more details in the drawing, the more realistic it will be. You need to draw clothes, shoes, accessories and other elements that create vivid image. Strands of hair can be distinguished by separate lines.

Step 8

You can color the drawing using colored pencils or paints.

Drawings of a person in full growth for sketching

Here you can download people templates and use them for sketching (click on the picture - it will enlarge and download):

Many people think that drawing is an artistic "science" that is not subject to everyone. In fact, the craving for art awakens in a person as early as early childhood, however, without a certain development of abilities, it weakens over the years.

So is it possible to teach a child to draw, especially if they were born who do not know how to do this? When to start the educational process and with what exactly? Finally, is it necessary to send the baby to an art school or a drawing circle in the future?

At what age do children start drawing?

Children begin to be interested in drawing quite early, taking an example from their parents, brothers and sisters, who write something on paper. However, in general sense the craving for drawing is manifested in babies aged 1 to 1.5 years.

And if at first the child’s drawings are more like a doodle-doodle, then closer to 5 years (and up to 15 years), an actively developing fantasy helps kids create real masterpieces on paper.

The benefits of drawing for child development

It is almost impossible to evaluate all the positive aspects of drawing in childhood - its influence on kids is so huge that the development of the entire personality of the child falls under the "sight".

In a general sense, drawing:

  • forms in the baby a sincere sense of beauty and a desire to create something beautiful;
  • develops the mind and imagination of the baby and helps to master new "tools" for understanding the world: felt-tip pens, brushes, pencils;
  • the child learns to convey surrounding objects with his paintings and at the same time is engaged in useful work.

Where to start?

The first drawing lessons can take place already when the baby learns to hold objects in his hands. At this point, mom can hand him pencils and help him draw a simple line on paper.

Let it be not quite even and even “move out” from the album to the table. It is much more important that the child understands that his “manipulations” can subsequently turn into something really beautiful!

Pencils or markers?

Giving pencils to kids without adult supervision is not worth it so that they do not accidentally get hurt by them. However, under vigilant supervision, children can draw with felt-tip pens and a brush - especially since they make the first samples of the "pen" with the help of coloring books.

Who will refuse to draw the hero of your favorite book, the finished image of which lies in front of you on paper? It's hard to make a mistake and do something wrong!

And what exactly?

Some people find that pencils or thin felt-tip pens are not very convenient to use. At least for kids of two years old: their lead often breaks, and the rod is pressed inward.

However, only by giving the child the opportunity to choose something of his own from the variety of options will you help him find his favorite "tool" for drawing.

Paints or crayons?

A two-year-old kid can draw with almost everything: with finger paints and bold felt-tip pens - on paper, with bright crayons - right on the asphalt or board. It is generally most convenient to draw with the latter, since they are soft, and the lines behind them leave clear.

It will be a little more difficult to master gouache and paints, because they imply not only the desire to sculpt something, but also a certain creative technique.

A miracle of technology!

IN Lately shops began to sell absolutely amazing things for drawing: a set for creativity with glitter on velvet paper or amazing felt-tip pens that a kid can blow into. And it's truly wonderful!

Drawing lessons for kids from 2 to 4 years old

It is necessary to teach a child who is 2-3 years old to draw from mastering the simplest techniques. At the same time, it is very important to be attentive to the needs of the baby to create and not to make fun of his diligent scratching with a pencil on paper.

The condescending attitude of adults to children's drawings leads to the fact that the child may consider drawing an empty occupation and refuse it.

What will be required?

Take bright colors, paper (the larger the sheets, the better), good brushes, a soft sponge and a glass of water. It is best to dress in something that is not a pity to get dirty - even a purchased apron for drawing will not save you from stains when young artist only 3-4 years!

How much time to devote to classes?

You need to teach a kid to draw for 10-20 minutes 2-3 times a week so that he does not get tired, but the craving for fine arts is not lost in the end.

Techniques for developing drawing skills

the freedom of action

For this lesson, glossy white paper and watercolors are taken. Have your little one dip the brush into the paint can and drip directly onto the paper! The bizarre patterns with which it spreads will look like magical pictures!

Sponge, not Bob

For this lesson, gouache and a large sheet of paper are taken. Have the child dip their pen into the paint and wring it out a little. Let him leave a “signature” on the sheet with his hand, and with a sponge rolled into a roll, make the final artistic “touches” next to it.

In a similar way, you can draw on paper and with your fingers: dilute the gouache with water so that it turns into “sour cream”, and pour it onto a plate. Using a wide brush, apply paint to the baby's fingers and ask them to leave their autograph on the sheet.

Wet style

A thick and large sheet of paper should be wetted under water for a couple of seconds. Now put it on a tray and invite your child to paint watercolors on it. Given the condition of the surface, the paint will spread on it, mix and create amazing “wet” patterns.

Scarlet flower

To teach a child to draw something really memorable, you can do this: dip the child’s finger in green color and, holding his hand, hold the stem along with him on paper. A handprint will act as a bud, and in the end you will get a wonderful flower!

This technique can be successfully used to depict other objects. Try to use it to depict a tree or a cheerful giraffe with a baby.

Drawing lessons with children over 4 years old

The age of four is a fertile time for mastering more complex drawing techniques. Already during this period, it is worth sending the baby to art school, but if for some reason this does not work out, you can teach him to draw by yourself.

Together is more fun

Get ready for the fact that you will have to do this together, since it is from your drawings that he will take the right example. Try to draw brightly, specifically and not be distracted by too small details.

Tell about everything

Accompany the drawing process with a fascinating story so that the child understands what you are doing.

Master the figures

The most important thing is to teach the kid to draw geometric shapes that will become the basis of the desired images, regardless of whether it is an animal or a person.

How to draw a tree?

At 4 years old, you need to start with a simple one: with an ordinary green Christmas tree, which is cold in winter.

Below we attach step-by-step instructions for creating an "artistic" tree and a picture - so that the child understands the principle of work.

  1. We draw a line on the sheet leading from top to bottom. We draw slightly curved lines from it, which will be the branches of our Christmas tree.
  2. Now we will try to “outline” these lines with needles: as shown in the figure. When all the branches become fluffy, paint over the Christmas tree in green.

Similarly, you can depict a birch and other types of trees.

Learn to draw animals

Draw a hedgehog

  1. Draw the needles of a hedgehog on paper using a zigzag, and then add ears to it.
  1. Connect them with an oval to make a head.

  1. Draw the hedgehog's nose, eyes and mouth and reward the hedgehog with a belly.

  1. Draw his legs and arms.

  1. It remains to draw the needles as shown in the picture. The hedgehog is ready!

Draw a donkey

Drawing a donkey on paper is also much easier than you thought.

We perform the following steps step by step:

  1. We draw a simple oval on paper, then divide it with a line into two parts, in the upper of which we draw the eye of a donkey, and in the lower - nostrils and mouth.
  2. Now we attach the ears to the donkey, drawing two “cucumbers” on the sheet. Just below the head, draw another oval - this will be the torso of the donkey, which we will connect to the head with two "neck" lines.
  3. Now you need to add legs to the animal, drawing them at the bottom of the body, and a real tail, placing it on the side.

Donkey is ready! It remains to color it as fantasy tells!

Draw a cat and a dog

In the same way, you can draw a cat and a dog. The step-by-step technique for depicting a cat is shown in the following figure:

The main thing: to make it clear to the baby that drawing animals is not difficult, if we take geometric shapes as a basis (in this case, these are circles and semicircles) and show a bit of imagination.

In the same way, you can draw a dog:

How to draw a person?

How to teach a child to draw a man? Not as easy as you would like, but not as difficult as it seems. Begin!

Scheme of the image of a man in full growth

1. Draw an oval and a rectangle on the sheet (as shown in the picture), and then attach them with a line to each other. We finish the little man's legs and arms with fingers.

2. Then add two lines to the arms to make them appear thicker. We will do the same with the legs. Now let's draw a person's ears (two semicircles on the sides) and make a hairstyle.

3. A person's face deserves special attention, but drawing his features - mouth, nose and eyebrows, will be easy if you first look at the drawing. We add a neck to the person and finish drawing a shirt with a collar.

5. We draw him trousers and boots, draw palms. There is nothing left: erase the auxiliary lines, outline the contours and decorate the person.

Draw a human figure in motion and a face

Similarly, you can depict a person in motion or draw a portrait of him. The step by step process is detailed in the following picture:

Drawing circle: when and why?

By the age of 6, a preschooler who is actively involved in drawing already knows how to create with paints and pencils. If his drawings differ significantly from the work of his peers (for the better), send the preschooler to a circle so that an experienced teacher continues to work with him.

To choose a good circle, it is enough to find out if there is a private school or a House of Creativity in your area. Very often, ordinary art teachers conduct such classes right in schools (without age restrictions).

Individual lessons

If you want your child to create professionally at the age of 6, send him to individual lessons. Their advantages are that:

  • the teacher visits you at a convenient time;
  • you choose the program in which the child will study (for example, drawing portraits);
  • Lessons are paid according to the fact of the lesson.

Individual lessons also have disadvantages: they are not cheap, and finding a good teacher can be difficult.

Summing up

Any way to teach a child to draw is good - both at 1 year old and at 5 years old, because it develops imagination and allows you to spend a little more time with your baby.

At the same time, it is not so important whether you will strictly follow a certain methodology or develop an individual artistic program on your own. It is important that these activities are interesting for the child and are varied.

And even if a real artist does not grow out of your baby in the future, drawing lessons will still have a beneficial effect on his development and the correct perception of the world around him.
